Later in October, Col. Gaddafi, along members of his entourage, were captured in Sirte by NTC (National Transition Council) forces. Footage has emerged of him being beaten, sexually abused and later shot in the head. It is heavily suspected that he was killed by an infiltrated French agent posing as a rebel fighter, as to prevent him from being questioned about his dealings with former French president Nicolas Sarkozy (now campaigning for a second mandate).
